The 2024 Dodge Charger idea is the best indicator of the dominance of electric automobiles. Electrifying one of the most powerful muscle cars is a significant task, but it yields significant performance gains. The next-generation Charger will most likely ride on Stellantis’ forthcoming big electric vehicle platform, which is said to have a range of up to 500 miles. Obviously, increasing the performance to Hellcat levels will result in a reduced range estimation.

Regarding this, Dodge has not disclosed a great deal of information on the new Charger’s engine, but in a YouTube teaser video for the concept car, the vehicle can be seen doing a four-wheel burnout. The new car’s design is an obvious tribute to the original Challenger and Charger models, as well as the reintroduction of the Fratzog emblem, which was featured on Dodge automobiles in the 1960s. In contrast to the previous version, the new Charger will be a two-door liftback coupe. The Charger Daytona SRT concept has a unique chambered exhaust system that is supposed to mimic the sound of the exiting supercharged V-8 SRT Hellcat model in order to maintain brand integrity.

What’s Different in 2024?

When it goes on sale, most likely for the 2024 model year, the next-generation Dodge Charger will be an entirely new car. It is likely that a four-door variation may also join the range, but we won’t know more about either vehicle until closer to the vehicle’s release date.

Pricing and Purchasing Decision

The new Charger is anticipated to cost more than the existing gasoline-powered variants, although the costs indicated below are just estimates. The 2024 Charger will presumably be available in a number of trim levels, but as of yet, only three are known. The designations 340 and 440 for the first two reflect their horsepower in kilowatts. Dodge has also revealed that its most powerful variant will be known as the SRT Banshee. When we get more information, we will update this article with further details and a suggestion for which model provides the greatest value.

EV Motor, Performance, and Power

Dodge has not disclosed how many engines will power the different trims of the new Charger, but the base 340 model is said to produce 455 horsepower and the mid-level 440 variant has 575 horsepower. A high-performance variant, said to be dubbed SRT Banshee, will use an all-wheel-drive 800-volt architecture; however, the horsepower figure for this vehicle has not yet been disclosed.

In addition, we are aware that the concept vehicle has a multiple-speed gearbox as opposed to a direct-drive EV arrangement. This is not an original idea, since the Porsche Taycan provides a comparable system, and this configuration is intended to boost performance and range at greater speeds. It also provides the driver with the sensation of shifting gears under rapid acceleration.

Cargo, Comfort, and Interior

Instead of adopting the typical four-door layout, the Charger design is portrayed as a coupe. The liftback-style trunklid opens to a spacious luggage compartment, and Dodge claims that the rear seats fold down to provide additional capacity for transporting larger objects, such as a set of new tyres. A big panoramic glass sunroof, a stylish pistol-grip shift lever, and a flip-open ignition switch cap reminiscent of a fighter aircraft are also seen. The interior design incorporates both current technology and vintage design elements, including a textured trim designed to resemble the grille treatment of the 1968 Charger.
